Last updated: June 13, 2026

The Property Tax/Rent Rebate (PTRR) Program helps eligible Pennsylvania homeowners and renters by rebating a portion of property taxes or rent paid. It is administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue and is funded by the Pennsylvania Lottery and gaming revenue.

How much can you get?

The program provides a standard rebate ranging from $380 to $1,000, based on income. Households earning $0 to $8,550 receive the maximum $1,000 rebate, with lower amounts at higher income tiers. Some applicants also qualify for supplemental rebates of $190 to $500, which can raise the total to as much as $1,500. Supplements are automatic for property owners with $32,070 or less in income whose property taxes exceed 15% of income, and for residents of Philadelphia, Scranton, and Pittsburgh.

Eligible applicants are adults age 65 and older, widows and widowers age 50 and older, and people with disabilities age 18 and older.
