Chase Freedom Unlimited: every perk, verified and dated

Every benefit below is checked against Chase's own product page, dated, and never shaped by affiliate revenue. We take no commissions, so the math has no reason to flatter the card.

No annual fee โ€” so the only question is how much it earns you

There's no $95 or $325 fee to claw back here. With a $0 annual fee, the Freedom Unlimited can't cost you money in fees, so the honest question isn't "is it worth it?" but "how much will it actually earn?" That depends entirely on where you spend. Here's the math for three kinds of cardholder.

The everyday flat-rate spender

The card's backbone is 1.5% cash back on everything with no caps or categories to track. If you put $1,500/month of general spend on it, that's $18,000/year at 1.5% = $270/year in cash back for zero effort, on a card that costs nothing to hold. For someone who wants one simple card, that flat 1.5% is the whole pitch โ€” and it's hard to argue with on a no-fee card.

Flat-rate spender: ~$270/year on $1,500/month, $0 fee.

The dining-and-drugstore optimizer

Beyond the flat rate, the card pays 3% on dining (including takeout and eligible delivery), 3% at drugstores, and 5% on travel booked through Chase Travel. Someone who routes $400/month of dining and $100/month of drugstore spend here earns 3% on $6,000/year = $180, plus 1.5% on the rest. The 5% Chase Travel rate is the sleeper: book a $2,000 trip through the portal and that's $100 back. Pair this card with a Sapphire and the points become transferable to airline and hotel partners โ€” a common "Chase trifecta" move.

Category optimizer: $180+ from 3% categories, plus the flat 1.5% on everything else.

The credits-and-perks user

Two small extras sweeten a no-fee card: 6 months of complimentary DashPass (Chase lists an estimated $59.94 value) and a $10 quarterly DoorDash credit on non-restaurant orders ($40/year). If you'd use DoorDash anyway, that's up to ~$100 of first-year value on a card with no fee โ€” pure upside. We don't bank DashPass in a "net" figure since it only matters if you order delivery.

Perk user: up to ~$100 first-year DoorDash value on a $0-fee card, if you'd use it.

The gotchas โ€” what the headline value hides

What we left out of the tables โ€” and why

How we built this page

Every benefit above is extracted from Chase's own published Freedom Unlimited pages by our automated pipeline, stored with its source link, and dated. We take no affiliate commissions and link to no application offers, so nothing on this page is shaped by what pays us โ€” because nothing does. If a number here is wrong, it's because Chase changed their page or our pipeline misread it; either way, our methodology explains how to check, and the source links let you verify every line yourself.
